ALEMBIC PHARMA

Alembic Pharmaceuticals receives USFDA Final Approval for Travoprost Ophthalmic Solution USP, 0.004%

Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited (Alembic) today announced that the Company has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Travoprost Ophthalmic Solution USP, 0.004%. The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD), Travatan Ophthalmic Solution, 0.004%, of Alcon Pharmaceuticals Limited (Alcon). Travoprost Ophthalmic Solution USP, 0.004% is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Alembic has a cumulative total of 110 ANDA approvals (97 final approvals and 13 tentative approvals) from USFDA.

BHEL

BHEL commissions country's first Lignite based 500 MW Thermal Unit

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commissioned the first Lignite based 500 MW thermal unit of the 2x500 MW Neyveli New Thermal Power Project in Tamil Nadu.

Significantly, this is the country's first lignite-fired 500 MW power plant. Also, it is the highest rating pulverised lignite-fired thermal unit commissioned in the country so far. The plant is based on Once-Through and Tower Type Boiler design, which has been adopted for the first time in the country for a lignite-based thermal unit.

Located in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu, the project is owned by NLC India Limited (NLCIL). The second unit of the project is also in an advanced stage of commissioning

BHEL has established its engineering prowess in the past through successful delivery of higher rated units of 600 MW, 660 MW, 700 MW and 800 MW thermal sets with a high degree of indigenization. This to inform you that the company had participated in the "Production Partners Interaction" arranged by Team Astra at Hyderabad on December 23, 2019.

The company's effort - in development of solid propellant for the Astra missile - has been specifically emphasised by Team Astra at the meeting.

Astra is claimed as one of the best in the Beyond Visible Range, Air to Air class of missiles.

One of the speakers mentioned that had Astra missile been deployed, capture of pilot in the Surgical strike could have been averted.

Premier Explosives Limited has been associated with Astra missile since 2003 in design, development and manufacture of solid propellants as single source of supply. As the development phase is over, induction and commercial scale production is expected to take place soon.

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited has been awarded the order of Transformers amounting to US$ 23,586,713 equivalent to Rs. 166 Crore from Transmission Company of Nigeria PIc, Maitama, Abuja (World bank funded Project). The said order falls under the normal course of business. The Company neither has any interest in the entity that awarded the order nor fall within related party transactions. With this order, the Company's Order book as on date stands around Rs. 1161 Crores.
